Mission at Integritas

“Ready to serve”

This is our school’s motto. We are always ready to serve and help anyone in need, from the youngest to the oldest. But how do we help? We go into schools, to our health booth, to nursing homes, and from door to door.

In schools, we give seminars, play with the children, and laugh a lot. The kids are very open and extremely loving. Every time you finish presenting, you see about ten little students gathering around, waiting for you to hug them and answer all the questions running through their heads.

The health booth is one of the places where you see the most diverse people. Usually, at the health booth, besides the health books we sell, we also measure blood pressure, body fat percentage, body mass index, and oxygen saturation. Here we also learn to smile, no matter the situation.

The nursing home is a place where people welcome you with open arms and listen to you with a wide smile on their faces. Whenever we go to the elderly, we sing a lot and recite the Bible verses we learned as children or in Bible class.

Door-to-door is, in my opinion, the hardest, because walking around with a bag full of books while people sometimes refuse you can be tiring. But there are also people who are so interested that they make up for all those who turned you away. Then you forget the unpleasant experiences and think it was worth knocking on doors until you found a precious pearl.

Mission Week

In addition to the mission hours that we all take turns participating in, every year we go to another region for a week and do everything you just read about. Still, this week is also about fellowship among us and the evening moments when everyone shares their experiences from that day.

Now, what I’m about to tell you will probably convince you to come here. In the 12th grade, instead of just one week of service, the mission trip lasts 3–4 weeks. The coolest part is that this month is spent in Africa. I haven’t gone yet, but from what I’ve heard from my classmates, it’s an experience that matures you, and if you love traveling, you’ll see many things you’ll be able to tell your great-grandchildren about.

The experiences I’ve had in mission work have changed me a lot, and if you decide to come, I’ll gladly share my stories with you—and I’ll be waiting to hear what moments you’ve lived while serving those around you.
